Protecting critical infrastructure
Cyber Ranges
A city in miniature, where engineers learn to defend the real one.
A project of the Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Initiative, an ISAC Foundation centre. Our commitment for 2030: 10 New Cyber Ranges.
The need and who it serves
Control systems run for decades and cannot be patched like laptops. Defenders need to practise on realistic models of the plants they protect. We establish Centres of Excellence with governments and research AI-driven discovery and virtual patching.
- Who it serves
- Utilities, transport, telecom, defence, government
- Where
- India, UAE, Indonesia and partner nations
What this project does
A physical cyber range is a scale model of a city, a grid or an airport on real industrial controllers. Sponsored at universities, it trains the engineers critical sectors cannot find.
