World Comic Heritage Centres

A home for a country's comics, open to everyone.

A project of the Culture & Creative Economy Initiative, an ISAC Foundation centre. Our commitment for 2030: 3 World Comic Heritage Centres.

The need and who it serves

Comics are the most read and the least preserved part of a country's story. They were printed on cheap paper and thrown away once read, publishers closed and sold their stock for scrap, and most creators were never credited, paid for reprints or recorded. We find each country's comics, scan them to archival standard, record its defining works and give every creator a lifelong record, free for anyone to read.

Who it serves
Comic artists and writers, creators' families, publishers, archives, filmmakers, readers
